White Lodging announced the appointment of Paula Spada as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Spada comes to White Lodging from Hyatt Hotels & Resorts where she served as vice president and assistant general counsel, leading the legal team for Hyatt's new development and real estate activities in the Americas.
With White Lodging's owned portfolio value on track to reach roughly $3 billion over the next 36 months, including over $900 million of active development that is underway, the timing is perfect for someone of Spada's talent to be joining the White Lodging team.
"We are thrilled to add someone of Paula's caliber to our senior leadership team," said Deno Yiankes, President and CEO, Investments & Development. "Her deep and broad experience will add tremendous value to White Lodging and our valued partners as we open a minimum of 15 hotels and exceed 30,000 guestrooms under management over the next 24 months."
Prior to joining Hyatt, Spada practiced as an associate in the Chicago office of Sidley Austin LLP, where she specialized in private and public mergers and acquisitions, securities transactions and joint venture transactions. She also practiced as an associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, representing private equity firms in the acquisition, governance, divestiture and finance of portfolio companies.
Spada earned a Juris Doctor Degree from Northwestern University School of Law and a Masters in Laws from the University of Michigan Law School.
