Marriott International, Inc. has announced the opening of Residence Inn Aberdeen, marking a debut in the Scottish city for the company's extended-stay brand.
With a prime city-centre location in Marischal Square, Residence Inn Aberdeen offers 126 well-appointed studio and one-bedroom suites featuring fully equipped kitchen facilities, with fridge, hob, microwave and dishwasher, in addition to comfortable living and sleeping areas, catering perfectly to longer stays.
Guests looking for a home-from-home experience are catered to with upscale design and amenities such as a 24-hour lobby, buffet breakfast, restaurant and WIFI access, as well as extra perks such as an on-site Grab'n Go market, shopping delivery service, and a free self-service laundry facility. An onsite, state-of-the-art fitness centre is available 24/7 and custom running routes can be accessed via MapMyFitness, thanks to the brand's global partnership with Under Armour Connected Fitness.
For those looking to socialise and network, regular Residence In Mix nights with drinks and canapés in the reception area will create a welcoming atmosphere for the guest community.
"Globally the extended stay category makes up one third of all business travel room nights, with 34% of those room nights spent in Europe," said John Licence, VP Premium & Select Brands Europe at Marriott International. "We are delighted to respond to this growing demand with the introduction of the Residence Inn by Marriott brand to such a strategic long-stay destination as Aberdeen."
Residence Inn Aberdeen, alongside the recently opened Residence Inn – London Bridge, is expected to be joined by a third UK property in early 2018 with the opening of Residence Inn London – Kensington. The 307-suite property is expected to be situated on Warwick Road in Earls Court, with easy access to The Kensington Olympia Exhibition Centre as well as The Victoria and Albert museum, the Science Museum, Royal Albert Hall, and the Natural History museum.
