Capsule hotels in Japan were once the domain of salarymen looking for a cheap, fuss-free spot to crash after a late night. But a new crop of guests has helped spur their resurgence, with growing numbers of novel and upmarket versions opening in the last year.
Radisson Hotel Group has signed a management agreement for Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya - a new-build hotel currently under development in De Centrum City, close to Malaysias administrative capital, Putrajaya, and just 20 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur.
Slated to open in 2020, the hotel will feature 280 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant infused with locally inspired fare and a rooftop bar with spectacular views of Melbournes Yarra River and Southbank.
The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), last week announced a major expansion of Taj Bangalore, adding 220 guest rooms along with additional facilities. The hotel opened its doors in December 2015 with 154 rooms.
