The Connie (tail number: N8083H) will become a one-of-a-kind cocktail lounge and event space at the 512-room hotel opening in spring 2019 and located at the landmark 1962 former TWA terminal designed by Eero Saarinen.
Developed by S P Setia, the mixed-use project's western tower measures 62 storeys and will host Melbourne's newest five-star hotel, the Shangri-La. The eastern tower is 60 storeys and will house over 300 luxury residential apartments.
With luxury apartments, upmarket boutiques and restaurants, premium offices and a five-star hotel, the Shard has attracted people and companies to the surrounding area, helping to establish Southwark as a core business district and leading to the £1 billion redevelopment of London Bridge station.
The Purchaser, New Jersey-based National Realty Investment Advisors LLC, and Co Developer US Construction Inc. will soon close the hotel as they work on a redevelopment plan for the prized oceanfront site.
