• DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station Hotel

Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station, located within walking distance of Kyoto Station.

This opening demonstrates Hilton’s commitment to continued expansion within Kyoto, a cultural capital that attracts travelers from around the world. The new hotel complements and extends Hilton’s presence in the city, joining DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Higashiyama; ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts; and Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma. Hilton is also set to introduce its flagship brand, Hilton Kyoto, later this year.

"We are thrilled to open DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station in this world-renowned, culturally vibrant destination. As it joins our diverse portfolio in the city, ranging from luxury to focused service brands, we can now offer travelers an unrivalled range of accommodation," said Timothy Soper, area vice president, head of Japan, Korea & Micronesia, Hilton. "We anticipate travel demand to further strengthen this year across the region, and look forward to providing our warm hospitality and thoughtful service to even more guests here in Kyoto."

A mere five-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station's Hachijo Exit, DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station affords guests effortless access to the city’s famed historical landmarks, bustling dining scene, and extensive shopping districts. With its optimal location and train access, the hotel also serves as an ideal base for exploring neighboring cities like Osaka, Kobe, and Nara.

“We are excited to open the second DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Kyoto, especially amid the bloom of beautiful cherry blossoms, a peak travel season for the city. Together with DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Higashiyama, we look forward to delighting even more comfort-seeking guests with the brand’s renowned hospitality and warm welcome. From our signature warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie welcome upon arrival to thoughtful amenities and comfortable accommodations, this new offering promises feel-good moments throughout their stay so guests leave feeling uplifted and inspired,” said Vincent Ong, vice president, Brand Management, Full Service, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

The hotel’s interiors draw inspiration from the concept of ‘A Touch of Kyoto Essence’, where traditional Kyoto craftsmanship, art and decorative elements result in a thoughtful blend of timeless techniques and contemporary style. From the ikebana-inspired flower vase in the entrance lobby to the café and lounge counter lined with Kyoto tiles, every detail pays homage to the city's artistic heritage.

This design concept extends to the hotel’s guest rooms, with 16 accommodation types to suit varying traveler preferences. Rooms from the second to sixth floors exhibit a retro-modern design inspired by Kyoto's historic charm, whereas Executive Rooms and Suites on the seventh floor and above offer guests a serene, classically designed retreat. The hotel also offers two types of 81-square-meter Suites, including Deluxe Tatami Suite Rooms for a complete cultural experience.

The nine-story, 266-room hotel features an all-day dining restaurant, a café and lounge, 24-hour fitness center, executive lounge, and an 88-square-meter meeting space. Guests can enjoy comfort foods made with local seasonal ingredients at Harvest Kitchen, the all-day dining restaurant. Its diverse menu is centered on the theme of “harvest,” with dishes like Double Smashed Burger dressed with Saikyo miso mayonnaise, Double Oyakodon – a chicken and egg rice bowl – featuring braised and crisp locally-reared Tanba Ajiwai chicken, and Bonsai Tiramisu. At Grove Lounge, guests can relax and relish in a sake tasting flight or sample liqueurs from around the world.

Located on the ninth floor, the executive lounge delivers panoramic views of the scenic mountains that surround the city. Guests with access can enjoy a delicious spread during breakfast and cocktail hours.

Mitsuhiro Ito, president, Daiwa House Realty Mgt Co., Ltd., said, “We are very pleased to partner with Hilton, a leading global hospitality company, to open DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station. We look forward to providing Hilton’s world-class service to domestic and international travelers, and creating inspiring and memorable moments during their stay.”
