tophotelprojects.com;
More than ever international hotel investors have Germany on their radar. At the International Hotel Investment Conference in Berlin in early March many international hotel chains announced several new hotel project plans in Germany. The construction of new hotels does not seem to stop - until the end of the year more than 130 new properties will open their doors. This data has been revealed by TOPHOTELPROJECTS (www.tophotelprojects.com), the worldwide leading provider of global b2b hotel data. Germany is still a "hot spot" for investors, because of the country's solid economic performance in Europe, although the price per hotel room is 10% below the European average.

Riu Plaza Berlin - opening is scheduled for December 2013

More than 16,800 new hotel rooms will enter the German tourism market in the forthcoming months, of these 3,000 in Berlin alone. The German capital continues to be at the center of attention of the hotel industry. The hottest new hotel openings this spring are the Waldorf Astoria and the Hotel Wyndham Grand near the Potsdam Square. Another Montel One (150 rooms, Leipzig Square, November 2013) will also open as well as the InterCity Hotel at Berlin's central train station (412 rooms, November 2013).

Another new hotel opening will take place in autumn: the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin (149 rooms) vis-à-vis the Waldorf Astoria is foreseen to be inaugurated during September. In December the Riu Plaza Berlin with 358 rooms should open its doors at Berlin's prime shopping location, the famous "Ku'damm".
