Among the countries in the region, the United Arab Emirates (17,137 rooms) and Saudi Arabia (15,415 rooms) reported the most rooms under construction.

The Middle East/Africa hotel region reported 614 hotels Under Contract totalling 143,870 rooms, according to the June 2014 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report. The Under Contract data includes projects in the In Construction, Final Planning and Planning stages but does not include projects in the Unconfirmed stage.
