Twin Cities' Largest New Restaurant Opens December 26

Grand Management, owners of the new KFAN The Restaurant opening in December in Roseville, Minn., today announced the appointment of three management team members to oversee this new venture: Mike Herstine, general manager; Jeffrey Vacanti, associate general manager; and Donald Selmer, executive chef.
Herstine joins KFAN The Restaurant from Figlio in Minneapolis, where he served as general manager since 1994. He has also held general manager positions with the Rock Bottom Brewery and Palomino restaurants in Minneapolis. His background also includes senior training chef positions with Palomino and Triples Seafood Bistro in Seattle, and other kitchen manager positions.

Vacanti most recently was general manager at Frauenshuh Hospitality Group in Bloomington, Minn. where he oversaw the launch of a new DQ Grill & Chill concept. Previously, he was assistant general manager at the All-Star Cafe in Columbus, Ohio; manager at the Planet Hollywood Mall of America; and a senior trainer/supervisor at Planet Hollywood Disney World.

Selmer, who holds a degree from the Culinary Arts Institute of America, joins KFAN The Restaurant from the Pizza Luce restaurants in Duluth, Minn. and Minneapolis, where he held general manager positions. Before that he was with Planet Hollywood Mall of America, where he started as a line supervisor and was eventually promoted to executive chef. Prior to joining Planet Hollywood he was chef departie with the Tour De France Cafe in Edina, Minn., and he began his career as a cook at the Hyatt Regency in Miami.

KFAN The Restaurant is a $6 million, 24,000 square foot restaurant/media and entertainment complex opening Dec. 26, 2003 in Roseville, Minn. at 2801 Snelling Ave. Owners Ken Plunkett and Dan Peterson of St. Paul. Minn.-based Grand Management were awarded an exclusive licensing agreement from Clear Channel to develop a network of bar/restaurant establishments across the country. KFAN The Restaurant, named after Clear Channel's Twin Cities sports/talk radio station, KFAN, is the first location to open under this agreement. Plunkett and Peterson also own nine other Twin Cities area restaurants including Sidney's, Decoy's Grill & Bar, and Tom Reid's Hockey City Pub.

Clear Channel is a global leader in the out-of-home advertising industry with more than 1200 radio stations and 65 TV stations across the United States, as well as outdoor displays and entertainment venues.
